Changing of the Guard...

So, I had planned to write out an Ouran Koukou fic for a NaNo project, since it's been discreetly appearing in my astronomy notes without my notice. But now that I'm giving it proper attention, the muse has gotten all shy and timid! I'm kind of mad, actually. I need to pay attention in my astronomy class, but I've discovered that I've been accidentally putting myself on "writing autopilot", since there is so many little notes and sketches and ideas in the margins. I figured that to stop myself from doing this, I should pay the idea some proper attention. And then it deserts me! It's still a nifty idea, but I'm going to have to put it on hold, I guess.

INSTEAD! I've recently become enamored with Kingdom Hearts - DUDE. IT'S LIKE A HOTBED OF GAY SMEX. I admit to being fond of the holy trinity - LeonCloud, AkuRoku (AxelRoxas), and SoraRiku, as well as some other pairings, maybe not as common, but still known: Zemyx (ZexionDemyx), LeonSora, SoraRoxas, AxelCloud.

I also have a rather big fetish for slave fics. Or prisoner fics. I'm not quite sure why I'm so fond of them, but I am. I'll have to sort that out one day, but for the time being, I just adore slave fics over others. They make me squee.

So I started a massive AU Kingdom Hearts fic, (tentatively named Indulgence) even though I've never actually played Kingdom Hearts. I'm just going off the FAQs and Walkthroughs I've read, as well as the other fics I've been reading. (note to self: go back and review all of those.) It features slave!Cloud, slave!Sora, and slave!Roxas (and slave!Naminé, but she's not as important.). Pairings? LeonCloud (dur. It's my favorite. I love their interaction and just guh. They're hot.), AkuRoku, SoraRiku. There's also a smattering of LeonSora (just for fun. <3) and probably some other ones, but they haven't shown up yet. I'm just writing whatever tickles my fancy, actually, and it's turning into a rather interesting story. One that actually has plot already! Goodness.

I've managed to power through 16,239 words already, and that was only what I did today. Spiffy. I'll probably finish NaNo way early if I can keep up this pace. I'm deliriously happy about that.

And in fact, I think I'll go write some more right now... but here's a clip.

Leon grunted, and Xenmas took his leave, sliding out of the room. Cloud bit his lip and shifted on his feet, uncomfortable for having been standing so long. Usually after fights he curled up around Sora and they slept together. His shoulder was still aching from the one hard hit that moron Loz had gotten in, and his legs were tired.

"If you want to sit, do so beside me," Leon's voice broke into his quiet thoughts. He almost retorted, but swallowed a nasty reply and instead slid to his knees by Leon's hip. Not fighting back was going to be hard, but he could manage.

Minutes passed as Leon brought out a small palm pilot and began to work on something as he waited for Xenmas. Cloud found his eyes drifting shut and he wearily tried to keep them open, but without adrenaline and rage fueling his actions, he found that he was actually very tired. He tilted his head slightly to lean against Leon's leg, and was quickly fast asleep.

Leon twitched at the feeling at first, but tamped down on his initial feelings of someone invading his personal bubble. Cloud was attempting to not fight him, as he was sure that Cloud would have never allowed himself to be so close to a slave owner before. He wouldn't impede that progress. So he let Cloud sleep against his leg and continued to message Selphie on how he wanted Sora's room set up. A dim echo of shouting filtered down the hall and Leon looked up to see the brunette fighting tooth and toenail against his captors.

"Let me go!" he screamed. "Cloud! Cloud!"

"Shut up, ya worthless runt," one of them drawled, and made to clock him on the back of his head. It never happened.

Cloud had woken up and was practically vibrating with tension, leaving Leon to make a quick step and take a firm grip on the handler's wrist. "I wouldn't do that if I were you," he spoke, voice dark and dangerous.

"What should I–? the man cut off with a sharp cry of pain as his wrist was crushed with a sickening crack.

"Because I said so."

The man fell to the ground clutching his wrist. Cloud was starting with wide eyes and Sora was looking at him with outright terror.

"Cloud. Calm Sora down."

Sora turned at the name and his eyes teared at the sight of Cloud making his way to his feet.

"Cloud!" he cried, throwing himself into the older man's frame, arms desperately clutching him. "I was so worried! Nojima said you were being rented out for a quick fuck and I was going to be next and–"

"Shh," Cloud soothed, rubbing his hand through Sora's hair. "That won't be happening. Promise. I wouldn't let that happen to you."

Sora buried his head into Cloud's stomach as if to assure himself that the man was really there. Cloud looked over Sora to meet Leon's eyes, who looked faintly approving even as he kicked the legs out from underneath the other man who had taken several steps toward them. Cloud was only thankful the man seemed to be honoring his words. He didn't have to protect Sora just yet, and he had probably caused some trouble by breaking the handler's wrist. Cloud was also slightly more worried about how easily Leon could probably take him down, and was thankful his speaking back hadn't gotten him killed.

I actually have more of that scene typed out; both before and after, but I'm not going to post everything up here. x3 That would just be retarded. And I've got some interesting smex scenes done too; those should be fun. Maybe I'll start posting up clips on LJ? ...goodness, I haven't been over there in ages...

NaNoWriMo!

Hyne, it's been a long time since I've updated this. So, well, first order of business.

NaNoWriMo!

I'm actually working on two different novellas this year, one for an Ouran Koukou Host Club fanfiction, the other one of my original works, called Fires of War. It's the sequel to my NaNo 2006 piece, which was called Blood of Fire. That one is actually... quite a bit harder to write, seeing as how although I did complete NaNo, I didn't actually finish the entire premise for Blood of Fire, so things are very interesting, seeing as how the sequel focuses on the children of the first book. Confused yet?

The OKHC novella is tentatively named Rejecting Reality, and should eventually evolve into a Haruhi/HostClub pairing. Yes, you heard right. It will contain a pairing of Haruhi/Tamaki/Kaoru/Hikaru/Kyouya/Mori/Hunny. What a mouthful, eh? This idea has been poking at me for a while, so I figured I should give it some proper attention and why not turn it into NaNo? Especially since 50k is a pretty round figure for a smaller story, so if I get it out of my system, it will stop bugging me when I'm trying to listen to my Astronomy professor.

Hmn, fanfiction status.

Weeelll, I might have a chapter for Scattered Tears up within the week, actually. It's been fighting me with a vehemence, but I finally wrestled it into something I kind of like. I'm kind of disappointed in myself that it's taken over a year to update, though. Urrrg. Stupid muse.

I've also got tons of other little things that are hanging around like cobwebs in my brain, but I haven't fleshed them out as much as I'd like yet, so they'll stay under wraps for a bit. But some of the things I have in mind include...

♥ An Inuyasha/Yu Yu Hakusho crossover, with a Inuyasha/Kagome pairing, and a Souta/Kurama pairing.

♥ A Bleach story in which Ichigo is betrayed by Soul Society, and he blows things up. >3 This one is kind of a parody of all those betrayal stories in which Ichigo eventually forgives everyone or develops a case of Stockholm Syndrome, but I'm trying to flesh it out into a real story.

♥ 30_houshin shots. Including, but not limited to: Hiruma (Eyeshield21), Luneth (FFIII), Hihara (Kiniro no Corda), Meruhasae (Demon Diary), and Squall (FFVIII).

♥ A Gundam Wing/Ouran cross, in which Duo is revealed to be Tamaki and Haruhi's son. Possibly Kyouya's too, if the muse has it's way.

♥ A Sailormoon/Kingdom Hearts (w/ extras from various FF games) cross, where some really interesting things are happening, and a lot of canon is disregarded. A Makoto/Reno pairing, and Leon/Cloud.

♥ A Kyou Kara Maou fic, where after Wolfram gets kidnapped (and subsequently rescued), Yuuri decides that he's not worthy to protect his fiance, and allows the Maou personality to take over their consciousness, while he takes a back seat in their mind. It's very...interesting. I like it.

♥ Some cute little Vaults/Chelsea stuff for Harvest Moon: Island of Happiness.

♥ A Naruto/Harry Potter cross, where Harry was good friends with the Yondaime, and they go off on crazy adventures together.

And that's not even half of the ideas I've got floating around. Seriously. It can get a bit frustrating, actually. But oh well, I love writing, so it's not that I don't like having all of these ideas, it's more that I don't have the time I'd like to dedicate to them, with college and everything.

Wow. Anime Expo was pretty damn fun. I've actually never made it to AX before, since conflicting plans and things always seem to pop up during the convention, but I made it to one day this year! Heck yeah! Saturday was awesome. There were a lot of fun cosplayers that I got awesome pictures of too. And, of course, my muse was easily seduced into some new fandoms, so my previous plans are thrown into complete chaos. Again.

Anyways, I'm already planning for next year, because I refuse to not be able to go next year. If I make my plans this early in the year, then maybe I can force other people to plan their plans around my schedule... and I've got a friend that was trying to hit me up to make her a costume for Sakura or Kobato (she's a big CLAMP fan, and I'm a pretty good seamstress), and after some discussion, I think we might be going to AX next year as Tohru, Uotani, and Hanajima. Within our little group of friends, surely there's someone who can play the awesome psychic? Muwahaha. We'll see.

So, fanfiction status.

I'm still working on spinning out another chapter of Scattered Tears. It's kind of frustrating because I was really excited when I started this project, but I'm not really in the "gw/sm" mindset right now, so my previous ideas are not flowing smoothly onto the paper, and then I have to go back and check things and then go forward and check things, to make sure my plot is sticking where I want it to be, and that I'm not leaving ginormous plots holes all over the place. (Little ones, not so bad. I don't like it, but I can deal. Big ones make me want to tear my hair out.)

I'm actually getting along pretty well with 30_houshin though. I've got a Luneth/Makoto (FFIII) that I really like, and that's almost finished. And a Hiruma/Makoto (ES21) that's almost done too. And it makes me feel mushy. Because it's packed full with a punch of fluff, and it's so CUTE to see Hiruma as a commanding devil even when he's sick. Ha. Yeah. Those will probably show up in the community soon. (Of course, that is a relative word...)

Touching Darkness! I actually have a proper plot for this now! except it interferes with some stuff I've already written, so either I'm changing the plot again soon, or I'm rewriting those parts Again, I'm absurdly pleased with this for some reason... and I don't know why. My current favorite project. <3 Even if no one but me has seen a hint of it yet. It makes me squee.

I'm also now working on a Bleach Bleach?! WTF?! I THOUGHT I WAS OVER YOU ALREADY, DAMMIT! GO AWAY! story that has my most favorite pairing ever which is ShuuheiYumichika. It is crack, and it is also the only OTP I have. Because I can't stand to see Shuuhei with anyone else at all, and Yumichika is only allowed to have other relationships before he totally pwns Shuuhei's ass in the Rescue Rukia arc. Annnyways, it's actually centering on the 11th Division (woot! Thug love! How I adore thee, division 11...) but it's taking some interesting turns here and there, so it might turn into a crossover. Hmn. Something to think on.

And, of course, the Yuu Yuu Hakusho/Inuyasha crossover that's been poking at my brain for a while now... yeah, that's been demanding to be written, so now I have some interesting material but no plot... (yeah, I'm lost too...) but we'll see how that goes. Eventually.

And my easily seduced muse has been pushing me into Doki Doki School Hours. Oh my god, can you say crack? This was absolutely hilarious. And what's really painful is that there is no real plot to this... (eerr, from the episodes I've seen anyways), but I can't stay away from it anyways! Aaarrrggg. I should not be allowed new fandoms when I'm not done working with the ones I'm already in. Grrr.

Updates themselves are shaky, but something (although I'm not sure what) should show up within the next week or so.

I'm back from Mendocino, and now I'm working at Girl Scout Day Camp. It's tiring, but totally worth it. I've been working at Girl Scout Day Camp for...five years now? Maybe six. I'm always tired and exhausted by the end of camp, but it is worth it to bring smiles to all of these girls faces. They're having a lot more fun than I did when I attended camp. It's freakin' hot during the day, though. And we're speed-walking all over the place (not supposed to run at camp!), and doing the songs & games, crafts, and the program. Unfortunately, most of the Girl Scout songs aren't really... er, songs. You're shouting them to a vague tune, most of the time. You don't use your voice musically much, like you would in a choir. Which is really a shame, since I've had choir training, and all this shouting makes my voice start to go hoarse. Thankfully, my 'proper' singing voice will come back about a week after camp ends. I'm still pretty good at it though, since I'm a pretty loud person when I'm in a comfortable place. Hehe, it's not something I should really be proud of, but it's hard for me to tone it down sometimes. I'm a lot better than I was before though. :3 I'm fairly quiet, but friendly, when around strangers, but I'm a very boisterous person around friends.

Anyways! Mendocino was AWESOME. I had such a fun time, and I met a lot of really neat people. I was invited to a bunch of camps and things for more dancing/fiddling too. Some of them are a bit expensive though, so I'll probably have to wait a year or so to gather up the funds to go. I learned some really neat tunes, and some interesting technique/styles for playing fiddle music. I also picked up a few Norwegian dances - it was incredible.

Now that I've finished blathering on about my personal life, a story status update!

Scattered Tears.
Yes, I've been neglecting this, and I'm sorry. I get onto kicks of certain series, and I'll start writing lots and lots of things about whatever I'm interested at the time, but it's nearly impossible for me to write about anything else. I have some vague notes, and a 90% ish finished chapter. We'll see if I can push myself into finishing it soon, yes?

30_houshin. (on LJ)
I FINALLY posted a shot. It's Bakura x Makoto x Ryou. All in all, I'm not too pleased with it actually, but I got one out, so I'm just going to have to deal with it for a while. (You can find it here.) I'm planning on spinning this shot into a novella, however, that better explains their relationship and how it came to be. I'm fiddling around with it right now, but I'm not sure when the first chapter on this will show up on fanfiction.net.

Touching Darkness (tentative title.)
What I've actually been pouring over recently is Yuugiô, and as such my huge project I'm working on right now is an AU sort of thing that I'm absurdly fond of. However, the scenes are all disjointed fluffiness from different parts of the story. My plot is fairly well thought out, I just have to sit down and write it all out now. A first chapter for this should be showing up soon. And we have slave!Atemu, Bakura & Mariku. Buwahahaha.

There are a couple of other random Yuugiô things I've been fiddling around with too (my current fandom obsession is Yuugiô; and it came out of NOWHERE. And it's hard to find good Yuugiô fic. Help, por favor? Emails at anarainex [at] hotmail [dot] com with links to good YGO fic are awesome.) which may or may not show up at some point in time.

A half-hour away from going to Mendocino. I'm just checking all my emails right now and quickly sending out messages to people so they know I'm not ignoring them... The dance hall is out in the middle of nowhere, and the cabins are surrounding it... so I'm not expecting any internet access. Which is the reason why I'm leaving my computer behind, and bringing along some good old fashioned notebooks instead.

I'm so excited! Ten whole days of pure dancing & fiddling. I think I'm going to be in heaven.
